13th annual Edd Pedro Wiffle Ball Tournament to benefit Arthritis Foundation

PAWTUCKET – The 13th annual Edd Pedro Wiffle Ball Tournament to benefit the 1,000 children in Rhode Island who suffer from juvenile arthritis was held on Aug. 7 at Slater Memorial Park.

Through this tournament, Pedro, who has hosted the event annually since his daughter Kelsey was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis at the age of 3, raises money for the Arthritis Foundation and awareness for the 300,000 children who suffer from juvenile arthritis across the United States.

This year, Pedro raised $24,000 for the Arthritis Foundation, making his total contribution over the life of the tournament $326,000.

Next year’s tournament will be held on Aug. 14 at Slater Memorial Park. More information can be found on the organization’s Facebook page, “Edd Pedro’s Fight for a Cure.”
