In this age of health care reform, Quality Partners of Rhode Island seeks to reduce costs and improve the quality of care.
The staff is engaged in developing innovative tools and processes to achieve clinical improvements in health care. The outcome is healthier people and patients.
Quality Partners seeks those same outcomes in the workplace with an emphasis on accomplishing meaningful work in a flexible, friendly and supportive environment.
Because the work can often be demanding and challenging, Quality Partners has created a flexible working environment, regularly allowing alternative work schedules and telecommuting. When necessary, the business offers assistance to workers who may experience personal or professional obstacles.
Part-time associates who work at least 20 hours are eligible to enroll in the agency’s comprehensive employee benefits program.
“Quality Partners pays 50 percent of the medical, dental and vision premiums for part-time workers and 100 percent of the life and disability premiums,” said Paula Beers, director of human resources.
As a reward for good work and deeds, Quality Partners encourages associates to complete a “you’re tagged” card whenever someone has done something that deserves recognition – a kindness, a special work product, or helping out when needed. A $25 gift reward is given for five recognition cards, a $250 gift reward is given for 10 cards.
The nonprofit agency values input from its workers, holding biweekly staff meetings. Associates are encouraged to put items on the agenda.
Quality Partners has also put a high value on diversity, actively recruiting employees in the Latino communities in Rhode Island. •
