BOSTON – Three college students have been arrested in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings, reported The Boston Globe, citing a law enforcement official familiar with the case.
Boston Police Department’s Web page said that three additional “suspects” were in custody, but emphasized that there was no threat to public safety.
The three students, who were connected to the 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev through the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, allegedly helped him after the bombing, a source told the Globe.
“Additional details will be provided when they become available,” Boston Police said in a statement.
The Globe added that no news conference has been scheduled and that neither the FBI nor the U.S. attorney’s office in Boston were immediately available for comment.
