5K held in N.K. doctor’s honor

WARWICK – The first annual 5K Run/Walk for Dr. T’s Kids will be held Sunday, April 6, at Goddard Park in honor of the late Dr. Robert B. Trivett.
Trivett, who lost his battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in March of 2013, worked in private practice in North Kingstown for 30 years and ended his career at the St. Joe’s Pediatric Clinic.
“Bob loved the children he cared for, both in his private practice and at the clinic,” said his wife, Christina Poore. “Through this event, we hope to continue his legacy in helping all children live healthy and happy lives.”
The race is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. On-site registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the
5K starts at 9:30 a.m. Online pre-registration is available at active.com (search for Dr. T’s Kids). The event includes refreshments and music.
A Facebook page set up by the family at www.facebook.com/#!/events/442804459152546/ has more details about the race.
Organizers are seeking participants, sponsors, volunteers, and donors of food, drinks or supplies. All sponsors will be recognized on the race t-shirts and banners. All donations are tax deductible.
