AAA: Gas prices continue to fall in R.I., Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices in Rhode Island fell for the 12th consecutive week, dropping another 4 cents, to $1.77 per gallon for self-serve, regular unleaded, AAA Northeast said Monday.
In Massachusetts, regular gasoline prices fell 3 cents, to $1.71 per gallon, marking the 11th consecutive week of declines.
In the Ocean State, the average price remains 5 cents higher than the national average of $1.72. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was $2.30. Prices range from $1.67 to $2.06, with midgrade unleaded at $2.10; premium unleaded at $2.26; and diesel, $2.11.
In the Bay State, the average price is just 1 cent below the national average. A year ago, Massachusetts’ average gasoline price was $2.26. Prices in Massachusetts range from $1.55 to $1.99, with midgrade unleaded at $2.06; premium unleaded at $2.25; and diesel, $2.06.
