PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices are at their lowest since spring 2009, falling 5 cents in Rhode Island and 2 cents in Massachusetts since last week, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA said the continuing drop in crude oil prices paired with strong supplies are driving gas prices down.

Prices range from $1.93 to $2.18, with midgrade unleaded at $2.40; premium unleaded, $2.53; and diesel, $2.38.
In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.05 per gallon. Locally, prices are 4 cents less than a month ago, but 3 cents more than the national average. A year ago, the Massachusetts average price was $2.69.
