Abandoned Woonsocket building will be housing

WOONSOCKET – A deserted building will be turned into nine one-bedroom homes for disabled and formerly homeless men as part of a project that also aims to revitalize the neighborhood, The Associated Press reported.
Representatives of NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley, Rhode Island Housing and other participating in the renovation project held a ceremony at the Burnside Avenue property last week.
Construction work is already under way at the property. NeighborWorks tore down two properties at the site and is rehabilitating the bigger one. The finished property will be transferred to Family Resources Community Action, which will provide residents with human and social services. &#8226
