PROVIDENCE – Acertitude, an executive search firm, opened a Providence office at One West Exchange St. on Tuesday.

The New York-based firm, which launched mid-June, said it offers an alternative to standard industry recruitment models for the C-level and senior executive search market.

It is a new venture founded by O’Neill Consulting Group of South Kingstown and Technology Executive Group of Philadelphia. Acertitude also has offices in Boston, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia, the District of Columbia, London and Shanghai.

Acertitude’s strategic hiring methodology focuses on tailored research, data-driven selection processes and an expanded view to integration, the company said in a news release.

A company spokeswoman said Acertitude employs approximately 10 people in Providence.

“Acertitude’s promise to unleash the human potential of today’s leading organizations is inspired by our team’s unwavering commitment to the sustainable success of our clients,” Kevin O’Neill, co-founder and managing partner, said in a statement. “Today’s data-driven methods become extremely powerful business drivers when paired with a deep understanding of the nuances that impact a client’s talent needs.”

Over the past two years, the Acertitude team examined industry challenges to address risks leaders face in outside hiring and executive performance.

A survey of 500 senior managers reported that 79 percent of their retained search hiring resulted in hiring other than “A Players.” From these findings and others, the team built a delivery model designed to drive “exceptional search performance and increase the success of its clients’ hiring decisions,” it said in the release.

“The traditional approach to executive search is transactional, and too often begins by pulling from an existing inventory of candidates,” Rick DeRose, co-founder and managing partner of Acertitude, said. “We’ve built a fundamentally different culture around behaviors and practices that put our clients’ experience at the center, beginning with an in-depth analysis of each clients’ needs, original research and custom talent mapping.”

With this expansion, O’Neill Consulting Group will continue to operate independently and work in partnership with Acertitude to serve its clients’ recruitment needs across industries, from mid-management to senior executive search engagements.
