Addiction-treatment experts set for panel

EAST GREENWICH – A panel of regional experts in substance abuse treatment will discuss improving addiction treatment and the family dynamics involved in helping people recover from substance abuse at a special event set for Dec. 10 at the Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant in East Greenwich.
The panel will discuss identifying techniques for engaging families in the treatment process, how changing family structures can affect treatment outcomes and why natural supports in a community reinforce long-term recovery goals.
The panelists will include Raymond V. Tomasi, president and CEO of Gosnold, a recovery center in Falmouth, Mass., Bill Kelly, clinical supervisor and consultant at Hopewell Recovery Services, and Fay Baker, director of project implementation and acute services at the Providence Center.
The panel discussion is being sponsored by “Addiction Professional Magazine,” which has sponsored similar discussions in several cities during the past year. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, go to www.addictionpro.com/warwick.
