Admirals Bank is the presenting sponsor for the 31st annual Allen H. Chatterton Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament after awarding $10,000 to the Providence Children’s Museum.
The memorial golf tournament, scheduled to be held Aug. 4, honors the late Allen H. Chatterton Jr., who was an early supporter and board member of the museum. Chatterton brought the golf tournament to fruition in 1984. His son, Allen H. Chatterton III of Chatterton Insurance, now chairs the tournament committee.
Tournament proceeds support the museum’s general operations, including outreach to children and families in need, such as the Families Together, Head Start/Good Start and Learning Clubs programs.
Other sponsors include Amica Insurance, Delta Dental of Rhode Island, National Grid, Nortek Inc., Orion RED and Parsons Capital Management.
The tournament was to be held at the Wannamoisett Country Club in East Providence. The golf course has been ranked one of the top 50 courses in the nation by Golf Magazine, GolfWeek and Golf Digest. •
