WASHINGTON – The national nonprofit Made in the USA Foundation has named Alex and Ani LLC among its 2014 USA Hall of Fame winners.
Now in its fifth year, the Hall of Fame awards program honors companies that exemplify excellence in domestic manufacturing and have helped to shape the future of U.S. manufacturing. Alex and Ani won the organization’s jewelry award, joining 19 other American companies in the 2014 Hall of Fame.
Five of the 19 winners were based in Detroit, including General Motors and Ford in the automotive categories, Weathertech car-mat manufacturer, Shinola watches and Element Television, the only U.S. manufacturer of flatscreen televisions.
Other winners included All American Clothing Co. in Arcanum, Ohio; Bailey 44 in Los Angeles; Heath Ceramics in Sausalito, Calif.; Hubbarton Forge in Castleton, Vt.; J. Winery in Healdsburg, Calif.; and Rocky Mountain Hardware in Hailey, Idaho.

In addition, the Made in the USA Foundation honored Wal-Mart Stores Inc. with the “Coming Back to America” award for its $250 billion program to source American-made goods, and recognized Boston Consulting Group’s reports promoting domestic manufacturing.
