NEWPORT – Alex and Ani LLC CEO Giovanni Feroce has purchased a Newport mansion for $6.8 million, the jewelry company announced Friday.
Known as the Wyndham Estate, Feroce’s new home at 36 Beacon Hill Road features seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a library, a grand ballroom and white marble floors.
“I do not believe in reinventing the wheel,” Feroce said in a news release announcing his purchase. “The wealthiest of Americans should reconsider making Newport home once more as it was in the Gilded Age and not limit it to a tourist attraction.”
West Warwick-native Feroce was represented in the all-cash sale by Allen Gammons of Prudential Gammons Realty. The property was listed by Paul Leys of Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty.
The stone, three-floor, 12,175-square foot Wyndham Estate mansion was originally built in 1890 and has been recently restored. The 11.7 acre property sits at the highest point in Newport, according to the news release.
