NORTH KINGSTOWN – All American Foods has been acquired by Rosemont, Ill.-based US Foods for an undisclosed sum.

According to a press release issued Tuesday about the transaction, All American Foods, a distributor, has annual sales of approximately $60 million.

US Foods said the acquisition of All American Foods will allow it to expand its ability to serve customers in the Northeast region.

All American Foods was established in 1988 and has nearly 1,000 customers throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

US Foods said it welcomes All American Foods employees to the company and will continue to operate out of the 65,000-square-foot facility All American Foods operates at 1 All American Way. An exact employee count was not immediately available.

“The growth All American Foods has experienced over the last three decades is proof that their business model and commitment to customer service is strong,” John O’Carroll, Northeast region president, US Foods, said in a statement. “We are looking forward to building on All American Foods’ already strong reputation and bringing an even better experience to food service operators throughout southern New England.”

The transaction is expected to close at the end of February.

US Foods is a food service distributor, partnering with approximately 250,000 chefs, restaurateurs and food service operators. With nearly 25,000 employees and more than 60 locations, it generates approximately $23 billion in annual revenue.
