AllianceBernstein to offer 529 plan seminars to financial professionals, attorneys

PROVIDENCE – Attorneys, certified financial planners and financial advisers looking to understand more about 529 college savings plans will have an opportunity later this month when AllianceBernstein Investments, the program manager for CollegeBoundfund, Rhode Island’s 529 plan, presents two programs titled “Learning About 529 Strategies.”
The free sessions, scheduled for 5 p.m. on May 28 and 8:15 a.m. on May 29, offer one continuing education credit apiece. The event is scheduled to be held at the Providence Marriott Downtown, at 1 Orms St. Guest speakers for the events include Morningstar Investment Management Director of Investment Retirement Solutions Jeremy Stempien, Anne-Marie Fink, chief investment officer in Office of Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo, and Gail Mance-Rios, acting executive director of the R.I. Higher Education Assistance Authority.
Registration for the May 28 talk is from 4:30 to 5 p.m., with a complimentary networking reception at 7:30 p.m. following the 5 to 6:30 p.m. presentation designed to offer free CFP, CPE or IMCA credit for attending Rhode Island financial advisers or certified financial planners. The featured speaker will be CollegeBoundfund Product Director Joe Powers.
Breakfast and registration are scheduled for 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. on the 29th with the presentation scheduled to take place from 8:15 to 10 a.m., with AllianceBernstein Investments Senior Vice President and Senior Retirement Plan Counsel Dan Notto taking the featured speaking role.
“The Best Way to Save for College: A Complete Guide to 529 Plans,” by Joseph Hurley, will be presented to attendees of both events.
