Alzheimer’s Association to host training sessions

PROVIDENCE – The Alzheimer’s Association Rhode Island chapter will host seven-hour training sessions to prepare attendees who are already familiar with Alzheimer’s and dementia care to train direct care staff in a wide array of care settings. The first session will be held at Greenwich Farms, 75 Minnesota Ave., in Warwick, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, April 15; the second session will be held at Blenheim-Newport, 303 Valley Road, Middletown, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., on Friday, June 17.

The training teaches participants the curriculum in best habilitation practices, and will include a PowerPoint presentation, discussion activities, lecture and demonstration, role playing and group work. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
