NORTH KINGSTOWN – Amazing Charts LLC, a leading developer of electronic health record systems, announced on Oct. 17 that it will licensing MEDfx PM, a Web-based practice management system developed by MEDfx Corporation.
A customized version of MEDfx practice management system will be fully integrated with Amazing Charts electronic health records, which the North Kingstown-based company said will result in more efficient billing and faster payments for health care practitioners.
“We want Amazing Charts users to be able to manage their practices with the least amount of hassle, maximizing reimbursements with minimal effort,” said John Squire, president and chief operating officer of Amazing Charts. “This licensing strategy allows Amazing Charts to deliver an integrated PM/EHR solution as quickly as possible.”
Key features of the Amazing Charts practice management solution will include all-payer electronic claims, eligibility and benefits, patient statements, color-coded scheduling and electronic payments, the company said.
Amazing Charts is aiming for a general release of the MEDfx system in mid-2014, and will offer the system as an optional module at a monthly subscription price for both the current on-premise Amazing Charts electronic health record system and its yet-to-be-introduced cloud-based EHR.
“MEDfx has a robust Practice Management solution that has been proven by thousands of users over the past 15 years,” said Colin Barry, CEO of MEDfx, in a release. “By partnering with Amazing Charts, providers still using paper charts can quickly get connected with a Health Information Exchange through an affordable and usable EHR.”
