Amos House, a social service organization based in Providence, has embarked on construction of a 29,000-square-foot community center. The four-level structure, when completed in December 2015, will provide space for a new community kitchen with a larger dining hall, classrooms, community rooms, consolidated staff offices and a training center. The expanded dining hall will allow the soup kitchen to serve 20 percent more people, reducing lines and wait time. The project manager for the $4.7 million contract is Ahlborg Construction Corp.
