Why did you select your profession?
I had a 5th-grade teacher growing up who was the most energetic, passionate teacher who loved her students. … I wanted to be the same beloved teacher to my students that my 5th-grade teacher was to me.
Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?
I hope to be making an impact on another generation of children.
What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
My graduate school mentor told me about this fledgling school – a startup with a totally unique approach to education. Looking back, she was so right.
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
Follow your passion and do what you love.
What is your favorite Rhode Island escape or hobby?
Spending time at one of the many beautiful beaches with my children in the summer.
How do you keep a work-life balance?
My 9-year-old daughter, Emma, and my 5-year-old son, Cooper, keep me very busy outside of work.
What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?
I would not change anything. … It has been an amazing journey these last 14 years.
