PROVIDENCE – Application guidelines for the new State Cultural Facilities Grant Program are available, according to the R.I. State Council on the Arts.
The program, approved by voters as a bond initiative in November, will provide $6.5 million in capital improvement for cultural facilities over the next three years.
“The arts mean business in Rhode Island,” RISCA Executive Director Randall Rosenbaum said in a statement. “That business depends on facilities that work, that attract visitors to our state, and that contribute to the local economy. Thanks to the voters, Rhode Island’s theaters, museums and performance spaces can play an even more significant part in our state’s economic recovery.”
Non-profit arts and cultural organizations can apply to RISCA for $2.5 million in competitive grant funding to support the renovation or restoration of cultural facilities by the Oct. 1 deadline. This is the first of three annual application deadlines for the State Cultural Facilities Grant program.
