Applications being accepted for 2016 Cox Communications scholarship program

WEST WARWICK – Applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Cox Communications Scholarship program.

Nineteen high school seniors who excel academically and demonstrate strong community involvement who are interested in pursuing a degree in communications, engineering, telecommunications or technology will receive $2,000 each.

Said Jay Allbaugh, senior vice president and region manager at Cox Communications Northeast, “Helping students take the step from high school to college is something we are proud to do.”

High school seniors can get a Cox scholarship application from their guidance counselor or by contacting Rosie Fernandez, community relations manager, via e-mail at Rosie.Fernandez@cox.com.

Completed applications must be received electronically by March 4. A selection committee will review applications and will select 19 students in Connecticut, Ohio and Rhode Island.

Since 1994, the Cox Scholarship program has presented more than $500,000 in scholarships to high school students.
