PROVIDENCE – Applications are being accepted for Social Enterprise Greenhouse’s first accelerator for ‘Do Well, Do Good’ health and wellness businesses.

SEG is looking for social entrepreneurs with a feasible health and wellness venture to apply. Applications are due July 3, and the accelerator is set to begin this fall.

The 12- week accelerator was developed in collaboration with Brown University. Throughout the three months, each of the social enterprises will work to refine, formalize and grow their social mission with the support of SEG’s coaches and advisers. One-on-one business coaching, a peer learning cohort model, and access to SEG’s coworking space at 10 Davol Square also will be provided.

After graduation, participants will receive priority access to the SEG Loan Fund providing below-market interest rate loans to high-potential social enterprises.

The new accelerator is made possible in partnership with MedMates and with support from the Department of Labor and Training Real Jobs RI program and Delta Dental.
Scott Jensen, DLT director, said they are excited to be funding this program as part of the Real Jobs Rhode Island initiative.

“We asked our community partners to help us identify workforce and economic development solutions within each sector of our local economy because we knew that if we wanted to move the needle, we had to start thinking outside of the box. MedMates and Social Enterprise Greenhouse answered the call with this innovative plan to deliver incumbent worker training and resources to our local job creators,” Jensen said in a statement.
