Applied Radar wins government contracts

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Applied Radar Inc. landed two contracts totaling $650,000 from the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.

The company won a new $150,000, Phase I SBIR on PASAROS – Passive Airborne Radar Using Opportunistic Signals – with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory at Ohio-based Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Applied Radar also landed a $500,000 Phase II enhancement on Adaptive Distributed Aperture Radar Mainlobe Jammer Suppression with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville, Ala.

“These contracts will allow us to continue our innovative work developing next-generation radar technology for the U.S. Department of Defense to meet the needs of emerging threats,” Dr. William H. Weedon, Applied Radar CEO, said in prepared remarks.

Weedon will present Applied Radar’s on-going development activities at the MSS Tri-Service Radar Symposium in Boulder, Colo. on June 18 to 22.
