SMITHFIELD – Bryant University on Monday put out a call for applications from working professionals for its suite of graduate-level applied economics programming which will culminate in either a master’s degree or certificate of advanced graduate studies.
The new graduate programs, the master of science and certificate of advanced graduate studies in applied economics, will begin this fall.
Professor Edinaldo Tebaldi, the applied economics program director, said in prepared remarks: “We’re especially excited about the immersive experiential learning component that will provide the real-world expertise, experience, and confidence to make a quick impact in their first employment opportunity after graduating.”

A top learning objective of the program is the development of an expertise in data analysis; a top valuable career skill according to a survey by Time.com/Money and PayScale.com.

Additional skills learned in the program will include analysis of economic and business problems, interpretation and forecasting of market trends, designing policies and recommending solutions as well as making a meaningful impact on important domestic and international issues related to trade policy, poverty and the environment.

The 10-course master’s program is offered in a combination of online and classroom learning environments, while the certificate program is taught entirely online with opportunities for face-to-face interaction time. Both are designed for working professionals interested in furthering their careers or entering a doctoral economics program.
