Arpin Group, Move for Hunger partner to aid food pantries

WEST WARWICK – Arpin Group has joined forces with the national nonprofit Move for Hunger to help customers donate their food to local food pantries.
Arpin Group is a global company providing moving and storage services for corporate, residential, government and military customers. Move For Hunger is a nonprofit that mobilizes the relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste.
Through the partnership, Arpin customers set aside their unopened nonperishable food items, which the Arpin moving crew will pack up on the day of the move and deliver to a local food pantry. From there, the donations will be sorted and delivered to local families in need.
To date, Arpin Group agents have delivered nearly 115,000 pounds of food to local food pantries throughout the United States, providing more than 95,000 meals to neighbors in need.
“Moving can be a hectic and busy time for our customers, and their unopened food is usually the last thing on their mind,” explained Matt Dolan, COO of Arpin Group. “If they don’t have the time to arrange for its donation, the food usually ends up in the trash. By partnering with Move for Hunger, we can now provide another convenient service to our customers while also feeding local families in need. Everybody wins.”
With the addition of this free service, every move will be transformed into an opportunity to make a difference for those in need, simply by donating the cans and nonperishables on moving day, Dolan added.
“Hunger is a national problem that affects every community. It’s not always easy to see, but nearly 50 million Americans struggle to find their next meal,” said Adam Lowy, founder and executive director of Move for Hunger. “Arpin Group’s commitment to this service will have a significant impact on food insecurity nationwide.”
