Art show focuses on biomedical research

PROVIDENCE – A cross-disciplinary exhibition investigating the intersection of biomedical research and art presented by Rhode Island School of Design and Rhode Island Hospital runs through July 19.
“Carrefour: Intersections of Biomedical Research and Art” is a collection of visceral, virtual, whimsical and, in some cases, personal works by Rhode Island artists and medical practitioners.
The show includes artist Boris Bally, who allows a look at personal jewelry inspired by his wife’s medical practice and the birth of their first child and Dean Snyder’s sculpture of tattooed, sewn and inflated rawhide. RISD’s Sol Koffler Gallery, 169 Weybosset St., is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. •
