Aspen Aerogels launches Pyrogel XTE Pony Rolls

NORTHBOROUGH – Aspen Aerogels Inc. recently launched a new type of insulation product in the United States and Canada – Pyrogel XTE Pony Rolls.

The rolls, described by the company as 80-square-foot-sized rolls of 10-millimeter-thick Pyrogel XTE aerogel blanket insulation, differ from the traditional Pyrogel XTE because they are in a “convenient, easy-to-carry form.” Pyrogel XTE is a flexible, durable, high-performance high-temperature aerogel blanket insulation for industrial applications.

“Our customers have asked for an easier-to-handle format and we’ve responded by launching Pyrogel XTE Pony Rolls. Pony Rolls are essentially a ‘grab-and-go’ form that are easy to carry and faster to cut on the job site. Because of their smaller size, they offer our users even greater productivity on pipe and fittings,” Donald R. Young, president and CEO of Aspen Aerogels, said in a statement.

Aspen Aerogels said Pyrogel XTE is used to prevent corrosion under insulation, noting its use on vessels and large-bore piping. The Pony Rolls, because of their size, can be used to insulate tight spaces such as pipe racks, tunnels and vaults. Aspen Aerogels also said Pony Rolls can be used for small maintenance jobs, or for follow-up after larger maintenance events.
