Autism Project hosting Family Fun Day

JOHNSTON – The Autism Project will present the Imagine Walk & Family Fun Day on April 28 at Goddard Memorial State Park on Ives Road in Warwick.
The 11th annual walk will include events and activities tailored to individuals on the autism spectrum.
“Over the years we have perfected our walk and offering of activities, games, and attractions that are fun for and sensitive to the needs of individuals with ASD and their families,” said Joanne Quinn, executive director of the Autism Project, in a statement. “The atmosphere of shared experience and understanding allows all concerned a supportive environment to have fun and connect with other families.”
The day will benefit the Autism Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of children with autism in public schools. It offers educational consultation services, professional and family training workshops, social groups for children and teens, summer camp, professional conferences, and support groups.
The event, which includes a 1.24-mile walk-a-thon, and many free activities, is sponsored by the UPS Store of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
