BAYADA nurse receives national recognition

PROVIDENCE – Bayada Home Health Care Nurse Darlene Radcliffe-Dumont recently received special recognition from the National Association for Home Care & Hospice and the Home Health Nurses Association. The organizations selected Radcliffe-Dumont as the Rhode Island representative in their 2014 Nurse of the Year Recognition Program.

Radcliffe-Dumont works as a clinical manager at the Bayada office in Providence, which provides in-home assistive, personal-care services to adults and seniors. Office Director Dana Cruz praised Radcliffe-Dumont’s commitment to going above and beyond for her clients. This past winter, she braved a major snowstorm and various warnings – with a spare generator from her own home in tow – to visit a Bayada client, Jason J., who has quadriplegia.

Her visit held extra importance because the patient lives with only his elderly grandfather who is physically limited from providing needed care. Radcliffe-Dumont stepped in for a snowed-in certified nursing assistant to provide Jason’s care, and connected her personal generator to ensure his safety.
