BCSB expanding into Freetown

TAUNTON – Bristol County Savings Bank has opened a new branch in Freetown, a location between the bank’s oldest market in Taunton and its newest market in New Bedford, according to a press release.
“We have been looking to expand our footprint in the South Coast and … Freetown presented a great opportunity to connect our base in Taunton with our growing presence in New Bedford,” said Bristol County Savings Bank President and CEO Patrick J. Murray. “The Bank has effectively served businesses and individuals in southeastern Massachusetts for 167 years. We look forward to building upon that record of success and helping the residents of East Freetown and the surrounding area experience the many advantages and benefits a community bank has to offer.”
The new branch opening on May 13 will be celebrated with a grand opening event on June 8.
The opening of the East Freetown banking office comes about a month after Bristol County Savings Bank opened four former Admirals Bank branch offices, two of them in New Bedford and one each in Fall River and Raynham.
