BCSBF awards $34K to five Pawtucket nonprofits

TAUNTON – The charitable foundation established by Bristol County Savings Bank awarded a combined $34,000 in grants to five nonprofit organizations in greater Pawtucket at an event in mid-January.

Patrick J. Murray Jr., president of the BCSBF and president and CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank, called the event “a milestone,” marking the most grants the bank has awarded at one time.

Murray awarded grants to the following Pawtucket area organizations:

  • Old Slater Mill Association ($7,000)
  • Providence Children’s Museum ($7,500)
  • St. Cecilia School ($4,500)
  • The Learning Community Charter School Inc. ($7,500)
  • YMCA of Pawtucket ($7,500)

“Being a community bank, it is a core principle of ours to support the neighborhoods where our customers live and work, so we look forward to seeing firsthand the good work these nonprofits will do throughout the area with the grants provided,” he said in recognition of the causes represented.
