Bank Rhode Island VP gets community award

WOONSOCKET – Nancy Dufresne, vice president and small-business relationship manager for Providence-based Bank Rhode Island, has received the Catherine Boisvert Walsh Outstanding Community Leader Award.
Connecting for Children and Families in Woonsocket gave the award in recognition of Dufresne’s dedication to helping Woonsocket children.
A resident of Woonsocket, where she also works in the BankRI office located at 1175 Cumberland Hill Road, Dufresne has served on the Connecting for Children and Families Board of Directors for 11 years. For the past seven years, she has been board treasurer.
“I am humbled to receive this honor, but more importantly, it has been a privilege to help advance the work of such an incredible organization that’s doing so much good in this community,” said Dufresne. “I cannot think of anything more crucial to a child’s future success than having access to high-quality educational opportunities, and that’s exactly what Connecting for Children and Families helps to provide.”
Established in 1995, Connecting for Children and Families is a community-based nonprofit whose work focuses on transforming the lives of Woonsocket children through high quality educational opportunities and family support.
