Bank Rhode Island opens 20th location in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN – Bank Rhode Island recently opened its newest branch in Middletown, completing its 2016 expansion efforts.

The new location is Bank Rhode Island’s 20th branch, and comprises private commercial-lending offices, space for retail and business financial specialists and conference rooms, according to a press release.

“We could not be more excited to have opened the doors to our Middletown branch and see all of the work that went into our East Bay expansion come to fruition,” said Mark J. Meiklejohn, president and CEO, in a statement. “This branch will provide new levels of banking conveniences to existing and potential customers across the area as we look forward to further immersing ourselves in the community and supporting the growth of local business.”

The branch will be led by Brooke Darcy, a longtime Aquidneck Island resident, who currently lives in Middletown. The bank says Darcy will focus on business development and identifying long-term growth opportunities for customers and the markets she serves.
