BankNewport, OceanPoint donate to local nonprofits

BankNewport recently donated more than $2,600 to Save The Bay as a part of the Community Month in August.
The initiative was designed to generate awareness and offer financial support to local nonprofits.
For every checking account opened during Community Month, BankNewport donated $10 to Save The Bay. BankNewport also made a $1 donation for every Facebook “like” that either the bank or its partner, OceanPoint Insurance Agency, received. At the end of Community Month, BankNewport and OPIA presented a $2,610 donation to Save The Bay Director of Advocacy and Policy Christopher Hamblett.
In addition to the Save The Bay campaign, BankNewport also held a Coins for a Cause drive at six branch locations.
Based off the coin-machine activity at each of the locations, BankNewport made additional donations to the Cranston Public Library Association, East Greenwich Animal Protection League, Friends of North Kingstown Free Library, North Kingstown Animal Protection League, Project Friends, and Welcome House of South County. •
