BankNewport cuts<br> ribbon at Quonset

NORTH KINGSTOWN – BankNewport cut the ribbon on its new branch at The Shops at Quonset Point this month, with a design that responds to new trends in banking. The facility is the first BankNewport branch without a traditional teller line, but with a staff that supports all teller transactions.
Technology is inherent in the design and is utilized to streamline transactions in order to allow staff to focus on communicating with customers about their individual banking needs. The branch has a conference room available for use by small businesses during banking hours.
“BankNewport has many established relationships in North Kingstown served by our branch on Ten Rod Road, as well as neighboring branches in East Greenwich and Jamestown,” said
BankNewport President and CEO Sandra J. Pattie. “Our team is excited to welcome everyone to our Quonset branch, which has been designed with our customers’ needs and expectations in mind – whether they are technological or traditional.”
Developer of the project is New Boston Fund, Inc., a private equity real estate investment, development and management firm.
“This is a tremendous location for retail in southern Rhode Island,” said Gary Hofstetter, New Boston Fund senior vice president. “We’re happy to officially welcome BankNewport to the Shops at Quonset Point and are very excited about the new offerings this branch will include. They’re helping to make The Shops an even more desirable area for shoppers and strengthening the tenant base.”
