BayCoast opens branch in Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH – BayCoast Bank last month celebrated the opening of its 18th branch at the Big Value Outlet Plaza in Dartmouth.
The branch marks BayCoast’s second Dartmouth location, according to a press release. The opening is a culmination of work that’s been going on since the bank broke ground last August.
Ann Ramos Desrosiers, senior vice president and chief community banking officer, called the new location a “branch of the future” in a statement.
“It represents a revolution in the banking industry that merges technological advancement with the high level of customer service,” she said. “We’re very excited to offer these new banking alternatives to our customers.”
The technology Desrosiers references is the branch’s new Interactive Teller Machine, or ITM, which is sometimes called a virtual teller. The equipment provides an automated banking experience for the customer with the assistance of a bank employee available through a live video feed, according to the release. The added flexibility enables the bank to offer extended hours throughout the week, according to the release.
The bank is also fitted with a Smart ATM, an open-concept floor plan and a “technology bar” that allows bank employees to assist customers with online banking.
Nicholas Christ, president and CEO of Baycoast Bank, said in a statement that he was happy to “solidify our Dartmouth presence” with the new opening.
Melina Mello, a Dartmouth resident, is serving as the branch manager and assistant treasurer of the South Dartmouth branch, according to the release.
