After four straight sold-out performances at Royal Albert Hall during the summer, Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra will continue performing the works of Beethoven Saturday at The Vets. The orchestra, founded in 1999 by Barenboim and the late scholar Edward Said, includes nearly 100 musicians from Israel, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan and Spain. It was created to enable intercultural dialogue and to promote the experience of collaboration as a matter of common interest. During Saturday’s performance, the audience will hear Beethoven’s Symphonies Nos. 2 and 3, also known as “Eroica.”
