Big Brothers Big Sisters relocates Drop-Off Center

WESTERLY – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State of Cranston has relocated its Westerly Donation Drop-Off Center in Westerly.
The center has been moved to the Mill Pond Plaza at 105 Franklin St., and is now open and accepting donations of gently used clothing, shoes, and small household items. The new center serves to create an additional, sustained source of revenue for the youth mentoring programs for the organization.
“Everyone in our agency is excited to be moving into our new location in Westerly,” said Deb Saunders, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State. The new location will allow the organization to better serve the community with easier access and bring the nonprofit closer to the boys, girls and mentors it serves, she said.
Every Donation Drop-Off Center has easy, open parking and is staffed to assist donors and accepts a wide variety of donations, including clothing, towels, shoes and small household items.
Donors get tax receipts. Collected items are sold through the nonprofit’s retail partner, Savers. Proceeds are used to fund the agency’s mentoring programs. A complete list of accepted donation items is located on the agency’s website.
The center is open seven days, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Donations should be dropped off during business hours only. Residents can schedule a donation pickup by calling the center or scheduling online at www.BBBSOS.org.
