Mount McKinley now Denali, how about Block Island as Manisses?

PROVIDENCE – Imagine Block Island as “Manisses,” what Native Americans called the island for thousands of years until a visit from Dutch explorer Adriaen Block in 1614 who renamed it after himself.
Manisses means “Island of the Little God.” In addition to Block Island, The Washington Post recently looked at four other well-known American landmarks that could be renamed, following the Obama administration’s decision on Sunday to end a 119-year debate and rename Mount McKinley “Denali,” its original Native American name.

“In changing the name from Mount McKinley to Denali, we intend no disrespect to the legacy of President McKinley,” The Washington Post quoted Interior Department officials as saying. “We are simply reflecting the desire of most Alaskans to have an authentically Alaskan name for this iconic Alaskan feature.”
Besides Block Island, the article mentions Mount Rushmore, Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier and Lake Superior as potential candidates for new names.
