Blue Cross hires new assistant VP of public affairs

PROVIDENCE – Stacy Paterno has been hired as the new assistant vice president of public affairs at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, the health insurer announced on Jan. 16.
Paterno, who had most recently served as senior public affairs director for Lifespan, will begin her new job on Jan. 28.
She will be responsible for overseeing all public affairs functions and will be tasked with raising the organization’s public profile through policy leadership, public relations and contributions to the state and regional health care systems.
Paterno will also serve as a senior strategic and communications adviser to executive leadership and will report to Michele Lederberg, chief administrative officer and general counsel at Blue Cross.
She is a graduate of Providence College, where she earned a B.A. in Art History. She resides in Barrington, Rhode Island with her husband and three children.
