Boeing selects AstroNova’s ToughWriter 640 printer for 737 NG and MAX aircraft

WEST WARWICK – AstroNova Inc. said its ToughWriter 640 flight deck printer – its smallest 40-column printer available – will be included in The Boeing Co.’s B737 Next Generation and B737 MAX jetliner catalog.

“Boeing’s choice of the ToughWriter 640 for the 737 Next Generation and the 737 MAX underscores our strong relationship with the world’s largest aerospace company,” AstroNova President and CEO Gregory A. Woods said in a statement. “We are gratified by Boeing’s confidence in our products and service, and look forward to continuing this successful alliance for years to come.”

The ToughWriter 640 40-column printer complements AstroNova’s ToughWriter 5 80-column printer, which was added to the Boeing catalog last year. AstroNova said the 640 offers the same capabilities as the ToughWriter 5, but is built in a form optimized for flight deck configurations where pedestal space is at a premium.

The latest addition to its airborne printer family, AstroNova said the 640 is used in flight decks to print flight-planning information. AstroNova expects to begin delivering the printer to Boeing next year.
