‘Boost Your Business’ on Facebook seminar slated for Thursday

PAWTUCKET – Wondering how to boost your business on Facebook?
A free “Boost Your Business” seminar will be held Thursday, June 30, to help small-business owners find out how to broaden their social media reach on the popular website.
Hosted by Facebook, the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce and the Pawtucket Foundation, the event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Hope Artiste Village (Met Café) at 1005 Main St.
The seminar will begin with opening remarks from U.S. Rep. David N. Cicilline, and will also feature a presentation from a Facebook small-business expert on the latest Facebook best practices and strategies for success.

A question-and-answer session will follow, featuring a panel of local small-businesspeople who will share their Facebook tips, tricks and suggestions. Garden City Center, Hope of Life International and Ogie’s Trailer Park are just a few of the businesses who will be represented on the panel.

“Small businesses make up the backbone of Rhode Island’s economy, and it’s critical that we do everything we can to ensure they succeed,” Cicilline said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to joining Facebook this Thursday, at Hope Artiste Village, for a free public seminar on ways to use online platforms to reach new customers.”
According to information from Facebook, there are more than 50 million businesses worldwide using Facebook to connect with customers, and approximately eight in 10 Facebook users are connected to at least one small business in their network.
