Boot camp for EMT training to be offered in July

DARTMOUTH – Stat/Southcoast EMS will hold its first “boot camp” EMT training program in July at its Stat Emergency Medical Training Center.
The 20-day, high-intensity, fast-paced course is designed to provide a route for EMT training for those who wish to pursue a career in the field but do not have the time to complete a traditional course, officials from Stat/Southcoast EMS said.
A traditional training course may take up to six months.
The boot camp is scheduled to run from July 8 through Aug. 2, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost for the program is $1,100.
Areas included will be recognition of symptoms, procedures and techniques in emergency care and hands-on practice. Programs are designed to meet or exceed all federal guidelines. For additional information or to register, please visit stat-emt.com.
