Posted 8/3/12

PAWTUCKET – Bristol County Savings Bank and its charitable foundation has awarded grants to 10 Pawtucket area organizations totaling $33,360.

The latest donations brings the foundation’s total area donations to $2 million since its inception in 1996 as part of the bank’s 150th anniversary.

This year’s recipients include Rhode Island Mayoral Academy-Blackstone Valley Prep in Cumberland, Saint Cecilia School in Pawtucket, Books are Wings, the YMCA of Pawtucket, Pawtucket Arts Collaborative, and Pawtucket Soup Kitchen.

“As a community bank, we feel it’s vitally important to support local organizations that are doing all they can to make a positive impact during these challenging times,” said Patrick Murray, president of BCSCF and president of BCSB, in a statement. “The [nonprofits] organizations we assisted this year are all building a stronger community in different ways and, in so doing, continually inspire us to keep doing our part.”
