SMITHFIELD – Bryant University’s Women’s Summit is slated for March 18, and more than 1,000 women are expected to attend the annual event.
Registration begins Jan. 21 for the summit, which will feature speakers such as Sheila Heen, founder of Triad Consulting; Carla Hall, co-host of ABC’s “The Chew” and Heather Abbott, a Boston Marathon bombing survivor.
The day-long summit, which has sold out every year since it began, promotes professional, personal and economic empowerment through education.
“For the past 18 years, the Women’s Summit at Bryant University has served as a resource for thousands of women from all walks of life to discover crucial tools, hear motivating messages and develop networking opportunities to improve both their professional and personal lives,” Kati Machtley, director of the Women’s Summit, said in a statement. “The Women’s Summit reflects Bryant’s ongoing commitment to the success and advancement of women in their careers and personal lives.”
The summit will also include a “power plenary session” by author, nutrition and fitness expert Dr. Pamela Peeke, as well as 21 workshops. The interactive sessions represent trends in leadership, diversity, business, education, communication, financial empowerment, entrepreneurship and wellness.
Machtley, who has directed the Women’s Summit from its inception, said she looks forward to this coming years’ 19th annual conference. She said that she recognizes that women’s lives have become more complicated, and the summit’s goal is to address that by helping women create the right balance while advancing their professional and personal lives.
