Lorraine M. Harrop has been appointed First Bank and Trust's residential mortgage officer. Harrop will be responsible for business development. Prior to joining First Bank, Harrop was the wholesale account executive for Residential Mortgage Corp. in Cranston. A CCRI graduate, Harrop has also worked at Speedcraft VW Mazda as the business and finance manager.
Regan Communications, a Boston-based public relations firm, has opened two new offices as a result of the economic growth of Rhode Island, especially Providence, and the southeastern Massachusetts markets. The offices are in Providence and Cape Cod. The company, which was founded in 1984 by George K. Regan, Jr., is capable of full marketing services including direct marketing, market research, development of collateral materials and advertising. CONSULTING
Tony Manfredi has been named regional sales manager for RHI Consulting. The company is a specialized consulting firm that provides Information Technology professionals on a contract and full-time basis. Manfredi will oversee the business operations of RHI's Boston, Providence, Lexington, Manchester and upstate New York offices. He has more than 19 years experience in sales, and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Boston College.
Terry Thomason has been named director of the Charles T. Schmidt, Jr. Labor Research Center and associate professor of labor and industrial relations at the University of Rhode Island. A University of Alabama graduate, he joins URI from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. An associate professor there since 1994, he spent 11 years on faculty. During his time at Alabama, Thomason earned a bachelor of science degree, a master's degree in psychology and a master's degree in industrial relations. He earned his PhD in industrial relations from Cornell University.
Brian J. Seeley
Brian J. Seeley has been appointed as sales representative for the standby generator division of RALCO Electric, Inc. In this capacity Seeley will be responsible for commercial, residential and marine sales. He previously was sales manager for Tri-State Fasteners in Seekonk, Mass. A graduate of the New England Institute of Technology, Seeley received additional training in ISO 9000 Quality Control Management at Roger Williams University.
David R. Holm
David R. Holm has joined Sells/Greene Building Company, LLC of Wrentham, Mass., as a project superintendent. The company is a general contracting and construction management firm with projects throughout Rhode Island and Eastern Massachusetts. Holm has been active in the construction industry and property management throughout central Massachusetts for the last 18 years. He is a Graduate of Central New England College with a bachelor of arts degree in civil engineering.
Phyllis A. Perrault
Phyllis A. Perrault has been appointed to the position of director of sales and marketing at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield, Mass. Prior to joining the staff, she served as regional director of sales and marketing for the Remington Hotel Corp., overseeing five hotels on Cape Cod. She also served at the Prime Hotel Corp. in Danbury, Conn. A Buzzards Bay resident, she also has prior experience in broadcast sales.
Damon Gordon has been appointed the new tourism sales manager of the Newport Convention & Visitors Bureau. He will be responsible for the development of the national travel agent and tour operator markets. Prior to joining the Newport CVB, Gordon worked with Viking Tours, the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina, and the Inn at Newport Beach. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a bachelor's degree in hotel/restaurant management.
John Chace has joined Allegra Print & Imaging in East Greenwich as an account executive. He will be heading the company's marketing and sales division. His responsibilities include direct marketing, new sales development and consulting with clients to create and produce effective communications materials. Chace, a resident of East Greenwich, is a member of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Rhode Island. Previously. Chace worked for Child and Family Services of Newport County, and currently he works as a job coach and consultant to the Rhode Island Children's Crusade for Higher Education.
Marie Hookanson has been hired by Fleming & Roskelly as a public relations consultant. Previously the president of Bray Hookanson & Co., she has been working with clients in the hospitality, marine and retail industries since the beginning of her career in 1983. In her new role Hookanson will be responsible for interacting with the media for clients such as Smith & Wesson Public Safety Technologies, Red Jacket Inns, Angela Moore, Newport Grand Jai Alai and Eastern Resorts.
Specialized Software has promoted Sudipta Singh to vice president of e-Business Solutions. He will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of Web and e-Business services. Formerly director of technical services and e-Commerce, Singh's IT experience includes object-oriented analysis and design, client-server, real-time systems and IT administration. He holds a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, and has several publications in the field of supervisory control systems and mathematical modeling.
