Butler welcomes director of patient experience

PROVIDENCE – Butler Hospital recently announced that Mary Leveillee is its new director of patient experience. With previous Director of Patient Experience James Alves transitioning into his role as system director of patient experience for Care New England, Leveillee officially took on the position in late February.
She’s working part time until she completes her teaching commitment at the University of Rhode Island in May.
Leveillee started her career at the hospital as a staff nurse in 1987 and has held positions as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in outpatient services and continues to cover, on occasion, as the house nursing supervisor. Leveillee has worked for Butler for a combined total of 20 years.
While working for Butler, Leveillee began teaching at the College of Nursing at URI. Several of her previous students are now staff nurses or in management at the hospital.
Leveillee earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing, at Rhode Island College and URI respectively, as well as a Ph.D. in nursing from URI. •
