PROVIDENCE – A 14-member search committee has been formed to identify candidates to be the next Community College of Rhode Island president.
The Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner will initially screen applications to ensure candidates meet qualifications, then the search committee, chaired by Council on Postsecondary Education Chairman Bill Foulkes, will carry out the candidate review and interview process, according to information from the governor’s office.
CCRI President Ray Di Pasquale is not seeking the renewal of his contract; he has been president since 2006.
Gov. Gina M. Raimondo, in a statement, said she is grateful to the search committee members for lending their time and expertise to find the next president, and also thanked Di Pasquale for his leadership.
The application deadline is July 24 for the president position.
In addition to Foulkes, the search committee members are:

  • Michael Bernstein, a member of the Postsecondary Council of the Rhode Island Board of Education.
  • Lisa Bisaccia, executive vice president and chief human resources officer for CVS Health.
  • Robert Delaney, executive director of the Institute for Labor Studies and Research.
  • Doris De Los Santos, executive director of partnership, development and community engagement for the Providence School Department.
  • Scott Jensen, director of the state Department of Labor and Training.
  • Pamelee Murphy, a lawyer who also served previously as assistant to the president of CCRI for special projects.
  • Judy Ouellette, member of the Postsecondary Council of the Rhode Island Board of Education.
  • Shawn Parker, assistant professor of art and gallery director for the CCRI Art Gallery at CCRI’s Flanagan Campus.
  • Sandra Pattie, president and CEO of BankNewport and Oceanpoint Financial Partners, MHC, the bank’s mutual holding company.
  • Sharon Perkins, chair of Allied Health Department, program director for radiography studies at CCRI.
  • Jim Purcell, Rhode Island’s first commissioner of postsecondary education.
  • Cheryl Snead, president and CEO of Banneker Industries Inc.
  • Rev. Jeffery Williams, member of Postsecondary Council of the Rhode Island Board of Education.
