CCRI to hold Wellness Fair

WARWICK – Members of the public are invited to the 11th annual Community College of Rhode Island Wellness Fair from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6. The event, in the Great Hall at the Knight Campus, 400 East Ave., and the services provided are free.

More than 30 displays will offer information and demonstrations on issues ranging from cancer prevention to fitness and nutrition for participants to gather resources to improve their overall health and well-being, according to the CCRI notice.

CharterCARE Health Partners will offer blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings. UnitedHealthcare will offer skin cancer screening scans and BMI tests, and CCRI’s therapeutic massage program students will provide free chair massage treatments. Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s Hope Bus, Mobile Resource and Wellness Center will be onsite; the residential-style recreational vehicle promotes breast health, nutrition, fitness and wellness programs. The Rhode Island Blood Center will have a blood drive; other organizations will be present.
