PROVIDENCE – Citizens Financial Group Inc. this month was recognized for promoting the advancement of diversity in all aspects of business and employment, according to a press release.
The bank, headquartered in Providence, received the recognition from DiversityComm Inc., which looks at diversity in companies throughout the country. In a statement, Mona Lisa Faris, president and publisher of Professional Woman’s Magazine, called diversity in the workplace a “business imperative.”
“The power behind the dynamics of diversity in the workplace should not be underestimated,” Faris said. “Diversity both reflects and reinforces corporate culture and, today, is a business imperative.”
DiversityComm, and its four diversity magazines, including Professional Women’s Magazine, Hispanic Network Magazine and Black EOE Journal conducted the evaluations, according to a Citizens Bank press release.
The magazines looked at the nations’ employers, suppliers’ diversity programs and executives, MBA schools and government and law enforcement agencies.
Susan LaMonica, chief human resources officer at Citizens, said in a statement that the bank is honored to receive the recognition.
“Citizens has a longstanding commitment to diversifying our workforce and are proud of our commitment to diversity and what we have accomplished so far,” she said.
