CVS Health closing Indianapolis facility

WOONSOCKET – CVS Health is closing its Coram Enteral Nutrition Center in Indianapolis, transitioning services to the company’s existing facilities in other states, according to a company spokeswoman.
The transition is expected to take place by Feb. 27, according to company spokeswoman Christine K. Cramer.

She said approximately 120 workers are affected, and all have been informed about the change. She said that the Indianapolis operation provides customer service support as well as billing services for infusion therapy customers.

Cramer said CVS is working with the employees to place them in other positions within the company for which they may be qualified. If no other job opportunities are available, she said the workers will be eligible for a transition package to cover financial and health benefits, as well as outplacement support and career counseling.

Other CVS/pharmacy locations in Indianapolis will stay open, she said.

The decision was made as part of CVS Health’s strategic director to “streamline operations and use existing resources in the most efficient manner,” Cramer wrote in an email. “Dedicated teams are in place to prevent any disruption in customer service to our clients and the patients we support.”

The Indianapolis Business Journal reported this week that work done at the facility will be shifted to locations in Littleton, Colo., and Jackson, Tenn.

The Journal reported that CVS acquired the Colorado-based Coram LLC business unit from Apria Healthcare Group Inc. in November 2013 for approximately $2.1 billion.
Coram, one of the nation’s largest providers of infusion services, provides therapies and nutrition services to more than 20,000 patients a month, the Journal reported.
